Things are happening

It is interesting that after my last little speech I get two orders from people who are not friends nor relatives of mine! How encouraging! This means that adorable one of a kind pair of pumpkin earrings are officially off the market. Maybe next year, kiddos, maybe.

As I suspected, people buying my creations has set me back on track. I've made seven pairs of earrings and two chokers in the last two days. I have lots of new ideas, including floral arrangements for Halloween. I am going to put together a couple more spider webs as well, because they are seriously cute.

Tomorrow I am going to do my best to avoid the heat wave that has smacked me upside the head. Figures it would follow two wonderfully cool days! I'll need to get to bed early tonight, get up early tomorrow, run to Safeway for food, get more waxed linen at the bead store, refill my water jugs, put some packages in the mail, and photograph at least 15 new items. This is a goal I hope to find attainable!

To top off the day, my friend is having a get-together with a little girly theme. It will be my friends and I in sun dresses and pigtails, sporting our favorite stuffed animals. Expect pictures to follow this post. ;)

Doing other things

Okay, well, I'm not going to bash the items that I make because I honestly do love them. I think they're beautiful. The earrings are really basic, but that's nice sometimes. The waxed linen is mildly delicate, but I've given some of the necklaces I've made for myself good use without any problems.

However great all my stuff is, no one wants it right now. This has discouraged me from making more, or even listing new items. I'm just renewing, hoping that some of the people who have marked me as a favorite mean it! Perhaps they will come back and make my day sometime soon. :)

Lately I've been devoting myself to other aspects of life. I'm detoxing from an anxiety medication (not easy), trying to clean house again, determined to cook myself more meals on my days off so I have something nutritious to take to work, playing with my cat, socializing, reconnecting with people I cherish, and I started something called Project 365:

You take one picture a day for a year. So far I am LOVING it!

So, dear people, that is that. I have some new ideas for my store that I hope to put into play soon, but until then I'll consider this vacation time.

Happy things to squeal for!

I got seven new Hearts yesterday! No idea what I did differently, but I hope I do it again soon. I have also recently been Hearted by a good handful of buyers-only, which makes me happy beyond words.

Oh, oh, oh, and what's this? Mature content on earthcharms? YOU BET!

Slowed to a crawl

It's discouraging when nothing sells. I understand that this is one of the worst times of the year for sales, believe me, I managed a shoe store for two years! I just find it difficult to motivate myself to fill up a store with things no one wants. I've been coming home from work and plopping myself down, getting restless, then making calls to find out who wants to do what. I like the social life I suddenly have, but feel earthcharms is suffering a bit.

So, Tuesday is a day off. It will be my Day Of Accomplishment.

One Tuesday I will:
-Finish the custom order I got.
-Make at least two pairs of earrings.
-Make at least one new choker.
-Photograph everything in my "to photograph" drawer.
-List or re-list five items.
-Clean out my desk and set it up as my mini studio.

I may think of more before the Day Of Accomplishment arrives. I will let you know how I do.

Blues.

Don't feel blue...

...wear it!

AAAAAHHHHH!

One more view and my Pirate's Compass Choker will have 500. FIVE HUNDRED. Nothing else in my shop has even broken 200 yet! It also boasts 16 people marking it as a favorite... which makes me wonder why it hasn't sold yet! I have only sold one pirate choker so far. They get a lot of views, more hearts than my other items, but as far as sales go, they bite the big one.

I am thinking perhaps it is the "I want to buy more little things for less money" mentality. Is $24 really a scary amount to spend on one item? Allow me to think about that while I budget for a very bad month due to skimpy paychecks. ;)

I put up the one and only pair of Pumpkin Earrings today. They're getting some well-deserved love so far!

I <3 Custom Orders!

I am so excited: I finally got another custom order. They usually give me a great creative boost, and the twinge of excitement knowing that what I make is definitely going to be owned by someone!

I have three pairs of earrings to make. Two of them are pretty specifically planned out, and one is a freebie for me to play with. I hope I can make something that will be loved!
